Pakistan beat Bangladesh by five wickets and moved on to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. After South Africa lost to the Netherlands, the game between the two teams was almost like a quarterfinal.

Before the important T20 World Cup 2022 match on Sunday, Bangladesh had given Pakistan a target of 128 runs.

On Sunday, when a spot in the semifinals was at stake, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi got four wickets and helped Pakistan hold Bangladesh to a low score.

The winner of the Super 12 match in Adelaide will join India, which made it to the semi-finals after the Netherlands beat South Africa, in the last four.

Shaheen’s best T20 score was 4-22, and he got Pakistan off to a good start by sending Liton Das back for 10 when Bangladesh chose to bat first.

Das’ 27-ball 60 in a close loss at the Adelaide Oval scared India. He looked dangerous when he hit a six off Shaheen, but three balls later he gave up a catch at gully.

When the usually safe Shadab Khan dropped the left-handed batsman on 11 at short extra, Najmul Hossain Shanto took advantage of the chance. The opener ended up scoring the most points, 54.

Shanto and Soumya Sarkar scored a total of 52 runs together.

Soumya got 20 runs in 17 balls, but Shadab got rid of him when he tried to reverse paddle sweep. Shadab got him again on the next delivery, but this time there was some controversy.

Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, was given out LBW, but he asked to review the call. Replays showed that the ball touched the bat before it hit the pad, but the third umpire upheld the call made on the field.

Shakib looked shocked, waved his hands, and didn’t want to leave.

Afif Hossain stopped Shadab from getting a hat trick.

The Bangladesh batsmen suddenly looked out of sorts after Shakib was out of the game.

Shanto was bowled by off-spinner Iftikhar Ahmed right after he hit his second T20 fifty.

Bangladesh kept losing wickets, and Shaheen struck twice in one over and then caught a fourth for the first time in his T20 career. Afif Hossain got a perfect score of 24.
