Rodrigo De Paul and Angel Di Maria will be allowed to play for Argentina against Croatia in the World Cup semifinal match, according to Lionel Scaloni, who is the manager of the Albiceleste soccer team. Scaloni made the announcement on Monday.

While Di Maria has been dealing with a quadriceps strain, De Paul was forced off the field with a hamstring injury during Argentina’s triumph over the Netherlands in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Scaloni stated at a news conference on Tuesday that both players are in good physical condition before the match in Lusail.

“It is necessary for us to consider the total number of minutes that they will be able to play. It’s fine if we wait until tomorrow to make a choice, but as far as I know, they won’t have any problems participating in the game.” Argentina advanced to the semifinals first winning 2-1 against Australia and then on penalties against the Netherlands. On the other hand, Croatia advanced to the semifinals by winning consecutive penalty shootouts over Japan and Brazil in their two elimination matches thus far.

On Sunday, the victor of the match that will take place at the Lusail Iconic stadium will play either France or Morocco in the championship match.

According to Xinhua, Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuna will not be able to participate in Argentina’s semifinal match since both players received a second yellow card during Argentina’s match against the Netherlands.

In the meantime, Croatia has not received any punishments and there have been no reported injuries.

Scaloni is quoted as saying that winning is the best way to recuperate from physical ailments. “We have made it all the way to the semifinals, and despite playing a lot of minutes, we are still performing really well. We have two players who are being punished, and we’ll have to figure out how to handle that situation, but other than that, the team is in terrific shape right now.”
