On Sunday, New Zealand announced their ODI teams for the visits of Pakistan and India. Kane Williamson and Tom Latham, two separate captains, will lead their nation in the two different series.

Latham will take over as the squad’s captain for the India series while Williamson is rested and will lead the New Zealand team for the ODIs in Pakistan.

All-rounder Henry Shipley received his first call-up, and leg-spinner Ish Sodhi and middle-order batsman Henry Nicholls were reinstated to the ODI squad selected for the two tours.

Gary Stead and Shane Jurgensen will return after the Pakistan series, and Luke Ronchi, a former Black Caps player, will serve as the series’ head coach for the three-match ODI series against India in January.

Shipley, a right-arm fast and middle-order hitter who is 26 years old, has been in excellent form in domestic cricket.

“We’ve been watching Henry for a long since he is a promising potential. Given how important true all-rounders are to any cricket squad, he has raised his game in the previous 12 months, and we are excited to watch him develop “Gavin Larsen, a New Zealand selector, said.

The fact that players are putting themselves forward in our domestic events and having their efforts recognised by selection to the national squad is heartening, he continued.

New Zealand‘s preparation for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India next year will depend on their performance in the two sub-continental series.

“This is a fantastic chance to play two top-notch white-ball teams in sub-continental circumstances. It will be challenging cricket against elite competition, which should serve as a true test of a player’s ability and temperament “Added Larsen.

It’s the ideal moment to face these teams at home as we aim to solidify our gameplans and evaluate the many situations and conditions we may confront, he continued, with the one-day World Cup in India less than a year away.

Teams for New Zealand‘s ODI matches against Pakistan and India Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Henry Shipley, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Kane Williamson (c) (Pakistan ODIs only), Tom Latham (captain – India ODIs), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman (India ODIs only), Devon Conway, and Jacob Duffy (India OD (Pakistan ODIs only).
