The Pakistan Federation of Baseball (PFB) announced on Tuesday that the Indian team has received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to compete in the 15th West Asia Baseball Cup.

From January 26 to February 1 in Islamabad, the event is slated to occur.

“NOC letters have been received from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. They have been sent to India Baseball Federation Secretary Harish Kumar,” PFB president Fakhar Ali Shah said.

“The passports of the Indian contingent have already been collected. The letter will be submitted today. I hope that the Indian team will get visas soon and will come to Pakistan,” he added.

Tomorrow, foreign teams will begin to arrive in Pakistan.

The Palestine baseball team had previously received permission from Pakistan to take part in the competition.

The home team’s preparations for the event are well underway. The Pakistan Federation Baseball took to Twitter to express its excitement for the tournament. The federation tweeted pictures of the players during practise sessions, saying, “Team Pakistan is preparing for the upcoming West Asia Cup in Islamabad, Pakistan.”

It is worth noting that the Baseball Softball Federation of India (BSFI) previously wrote a letter to the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to confirm their participation in the Baseball event of the XIV South Asian Games, which was originally scheduled to take place in March 2023 but was later postponed to March 2024 by the South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC).
