Shahid Afridi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Interim Selection Committee, paid a visit to the National Bank Cricket Arena on Sunday during a training session for the Pakistan team.

During his visit, Afridi chatted with the pitch curator about the preparations for the upcoming three-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand.

The great all-rounder also spoke briefly with captain Babar Azam and the national team’s coaches.

During the next series against New Zealand, Pakistan has a chance to become the world’s top ODI side. If Pakistan defeats New Zealand 3-0 in the three-match series, they will move to the top of the standings with 114 rating points.

With 107 rating points, the Men in Green are currently in fifth position. Meanwhile, New Zealand leads the leaderboard with 116 rating points.

If Pakistan wins the one-day internationals against New Zealand, it will be their fourth series victory in a row. Pakistan has won its past three One-Day International (ODI) series against the Netherlands, West Indies, and Australia.
