Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe, qualified for Super Six of U19 T20 World Cup
In order to advance to the Super Six round of the ongoing ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by a margin of 10 wickets.
Pakistan defeated the opposition in 10.5 overs after setting a target of 98 runs, with opener Eyman Fatima driving the charge with a thunderous fifty.
With the help of 10 fours and two sixes, Fatima scored 62 runs in 35 balls to maintain her unbeaten status.
Shawaal Zulfiqar, Fatima’s opening partner, scored 32 runs in 30 balls.
Prior to it, Zimbabwe was limited to 97-6 in their allowed 20 overs after opting to bat first.
None of the Zimbabwean batters were able to make a noteworthy impact, with the exception of captain Kelis Ndhlovu, who scored 42 runs in 35 balls.
Anosha Nasir, who had stats of 2-21 in four overs, was Pakistan’s top bowler. Areesha Noor and Laiba Nasir each took one wicket in the meantime.
Pakistan defeated Rwanda in their opening match by eight wickets, but lost to England in their subsequent match by 53 runs.
The top three teams from each group advance to the Super Six stage, which features two groups of six teams each. The three teams from Groups A and D will be in Group 1, while the three teams from Groups B and C will be in Group 2.
The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals, which will take place on January 27 at Potchefstroom’s JB Marks Oval.
On January 29, the championship game will be held there.
