Pakistan opened their super six stage of the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup with a seven-wicket victory over Ireland.

The group two members of this stage, the females in green, chased down 114 runs in 17.3 overs.

Pakistan’s triumphant pursuit was headed by captain Syeda Aroob Shah, and the team is now eager to face New Zealand in the second super six stage encounter.

Pakistani openers Shawaal Zulfiqar (18) and Eyman Fatima (25) set the ideal tone for their squad, scoring 44 runs for the first wicket partnership as they prepared to chase 114 runs.

Eyman, who demonstrated maturity in this competition at such a young age, was unable to continue this time. She scored 25 points out of 17, including four fand a six.

The combined loss of Shawaal and Eyman was 44 runs. Two consecutive wickets put Pakistan under strain for a time, but captain Aroob made a crucial cameo to rescue Pakistan.

Aroob scored 35 runs off 25 balls and combined with Warda Yousaf to score 56 runs.

For Ireland, Zara Craig, Freya Sargent, and Georgina Dempsey each shared a wicket.

Ireland scored 113-7 in 20 overs earlier thanks to Annabel Squires’ 55 runs, which she blasted. Craig scored 17 runs.

Anoosha Nasir and Rida Aslam both scored two goals for Pakistan, keeping Ireland’s total at 113.
