PCB took decision to review Babar Azam’s captaincy in all formats
Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board PCB took the decision to review Babar Azam’s captaincy in all three formats, BOL News Reported.
Following a dismal home Test season that might limit Babar Azam’s role in the team across formats, the PCB is considering conducting a thorough review of the team management.
The PCB executive committee, led by Najam Sethi, is reportedly dissatisfied with the existing setup and mulling a thorough review after the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League concludes in March.
As per details, the Najam Sethi administration is planning to limit the captaincy of Babar and PCB is considering making separate captains for all three formats.
As per sources, the purpose of Shan Masood’s appointment as vice-captain was to send a message to Babar. The review and change in the leadership of the national team will take place after the Pakistan Super League.
However, Chairman Najam Sethi is taking interest in the appointment of coaches for the Pakistan team.
Notably, Babar Azam’s captaincy of the red-ball format has come under scrutiny after Pakistan failed to win any of its five Test matches and lost three of them.
