On Monday, the interim Chief Selector Shahid Afridi made it clear that players who have a strike rate in Twenty20 cricket that is lower than 135 will not be picked in the team.

Mr. Afridi stated the following when participating in a private television programme: “As a selector, I am having an eye on all the players of the Pakistan cricket team. I was not satisfied with the Karachi Test pitch. I wished that there should be a bouncy track.

When asked about his function, Mr. Afridi stated that it was a challenging duty to ensure that everyone was content while he was in office.

Mr. Afridi stated while he was being questioned about his contacts with the players,  “I am in direct contact with the players”.

Mr. Afridi, when asked for his opinion regarding the communication gap, stated that whenever there was a lack of communication in the dressing team, then it was possible that other people would take advantage of the situation.
