Andy Flower hope to win PSL 2023 by Sultans
Andy Flower, the head coach of Multan Sultans, thinks that his team can win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) championship in the upcoming eighth season.
In 2021, Multan won their first PSL trophy, and in 2022, they finished second.
“They should certainly be optimistic and expectant. We all want to be optimistic about Multan’s results. I must stress that it is critical to recognize, especially in our dressing room, that you cannot control results to a big extent. “You can control things like your mindset when you come to training or when you come to compete in a competition,” Flower told PCB Digital.
“Those are the things that are under your control and those are the things that we try to encourage our athletes and staff to focus on. If you do well in it, you will have a better chance of doing well in the event. That’s how we attempt to see things,” he added.

The ex-cricketer from Zimbabwe was excited to watch his team play in Multan in front of Multan residents.
“I would not want to dampen any of our supporters’ aspirations and desires. We are quite excited to perform in front of [home] supporters for five of our games this year. We had previously performed there, and the atmosphere was incredible. It has a beautiful setting. It has an excellent pitch. “We intend to make advantage of our home conditions and knowledge,” he stated.
Flower also discussed what distinguished the PSL from other T20 competitions across the world.
“Every league has its own quirks and differences. I have thoroughly loved my stint in the Pakistan Super League. It’s been great to see all of the available talent. The rapid bowling and spin bowling definitely stick out to me. Every team in the Pakistan Super League has pace, and almost every team has wrist spin. Some of the batting is certainly excellent,” he remarked.
“I do really like the fact that the Pakistani cricketing public have really bought in to the various franchises and associate themselves with each individual franchise and, therefore, provide the atmosphere that’s so important not only for the players to express their talent in front of, cameras and pass on that feeling of excitement to the viewers on TV.
“I believe that all of these is important in making a fantastic product, and the HBL PSL definitely has that.”
The PSL 8 opening ceremony will take place in Multan on February 13 before the tournament’s first match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans; the closing ceremony and final will take place on March 19 in Punjab, which will also host play-offs.
