“As a nation, we are not valuing Babar for what he is worth” says Shadab

• Shadab believes that Azam is greater diamond than Kohinoor.
• Nation should respect him the way the world does.
• He is Pakistan’s biggest player and ICC Cricketer of the Year.

Vice-captain Shadab Khan of the Pakistani side claimed that captain Babar Azam is a greater diamond than Kohinoor.

According to Shadab, who was speaking in an interview with a local television station, it is unfair to criticise Babar because he is currently Pakistan’s top cricketer.

“I think we are doing injustice with such a diamond. Pakistan has been blessed with such a big diamond. He [Babar] is even a bigger diamond than Kohinoor,” said Shadab.

“As a nation, we are not valuing Babar for what he is worth and are pressurising him. At the end of the day, he is human. We should respect him the way the world respects him,

“I am surprised when people doubt him as a captain or a leader. He is Pakistan’s biggest player. Our nation should respect him the way we respect him in the team,” he concluded.

One of the best batters in cricket right now is thought to be Babar. The ICC Cricketer of the Year (2022) award was recently won by the right-handed hitter.
