Babar Azam set goal for PSL 2023

• Babar Azam will lead Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 8.
• PSL will begins on February 13 in Multan.
• The batsman has the most runs in tournament history (2,413).

Babar Azam, the captain and outstanding batsman for Pakistan, has set the goal of becoming the first player to get a century in the Pakistan Super League.

Azam will lead Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 8, which begins on February 13 in Multan, after leaving Karachi Kings before the draught last year.

“Because of the competitive aspect of the PSL, each edition is quite thrilling for me. “Every year is a new challenge because the players you share the Pakistan dressing room with all year become your opponents,” Azam stated on the latest episode of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Podcast.

“A new franchise, and a new season, this PSL edition holds great significance for me and I am looking forward to having a successful start in this adventure.

“Sharing the locker room with different players throughout – one season with Islamabad United and six seasons with Karachi Kings – has helped me a lot. When you connect with other players, you learn a lot about their thinking, training regimen, and how they handle different situations.

“It is a dream for me to hit a century in the PSL as I already have two T20I hundreds and a few more in different tournaments. I’m optimistic about reaching the three-figure threshold in this PSL, and I’m hoping for a big score shortly.”

It should be noted that Babar Azam has the most runs in tournament history (2,413).

The PSL 8 opening ceremony will take place in Multan on February 13 before the tournament’s first match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans; the closing ceremony and final will take place on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.
