The midfielder for Manchester City, Bernardo Silva, thinks that as the season nears its conclusion, winning mentality will be crucial.

In the English Premier League title battle, Arsenal presently has a two-point advantage over City and still has a game remaining.

“What motivates me are the memories of our successes, they are so nice that we always want to repeat them,” said Bernardo.

“Having said this, we have the responsibility of doing our best for the fans and for the Club that we represent, so we always give our all to be able to win again and also to leave our mark on football history.

“The story that we have written as a team, winning four of the last five Premier Leagues, and having won League Cups, FA Cups, Community Shields.

“We also want to add the Champions League to this, and this willingness keeps growing to cement this special period in the Club’s history – it’s something that we all feel.”

Bernardo is eagerly anticipating the Premier League matchup with Bournemouth on Saturday (today).

“The games have come thick and fast, it’s been a tough run of fixtures and it’s not been easy,” he said.

“We drew with Forest, and we’ve not been able to constantly win.

“Once more we’re going to give our best against Bournemouth away from home, of course that’s harder than playing at home, but with a lot of desire to bring back the three points.”

Kevin De Bruyne, a midfielder for City, missed the Champions League tie against Leipzig on Wednesday due to sickness and is questionable for the Bournemouth game on Saturday.

In the midst of a stretch of five away games, manager Pep Guardiola claimed that his team was beginning to feel the pressure.

“Now it is a question to consider because our fatigue is there, definitely, but we have to take energy from I don’t know where, but we have to do it,” he said.

Erling Haaland’s absence from Manchester City’s attack, according to Guardiola, is not his fault because the entire team should bear responsibility when things don’t work out.

“It is our fault, not Erling’s. Erling has been impressive all season,” Guardiola said Friday on the eve of City’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

“It’s not metrics, I don’t need metrics to know. When I finish the game, one second later I know if he has been involved or not and who should be more involved or not.”
