In the eighth match of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL), played on Sunday at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan Sultans defeated Islamabad United by a score of 52 runs.

Islamabad was all out for 138 in 17.5 overs while attempting to reach a target of 191 runs.

Islamabad lost their final six wickets for just 26 runs after being 112-4 at one point.

With the help of five fours and a six, Rassie van der Dussen scored the most runs with 49 in only 32 balls.

With figures of 4-22 in three overs, pacer Abbas Afridi was Multan’s top bowler.

Usama Mir also hindered Islamabad’s attempt to score runs by taking two wickets in a single over, including those of Colin Munro and Shadab Khan.

Ihsanullah and Mohammad Ilyas both took two wickets.

With the help of fifty-plus scores from David Miller and Mohammad Rizwan, the home team had earlier produced 190-4 in their allotted 20 overs.

Miller provided his side with some rapid runs at the end of the innings with his 52 runs in 25 balls, which included three fours and four maximums.

The South African also hit Islamabad captain Shadab Khan for three consecutive sixes during his remarkable innings.

Rizwan, the captain, scored 50 runs in 38 balls, including five fours and a six.

Rilee Rossouw added 36 runs in 30 balls after scoring fifty in the previous two games. Kieron Pollard, on the other hand, managed 32 runs off 21 balls to stay unbeaten.

It should be mentioned that Islamabad United chose to bowl first against Multan Sultans after winning the toss.

For United, Tom Curran, Mohammad Wasim, Shadab, and Rumman Raees each claimed one wicket.

For the match, each team had made one change. Abrar Ahmed took over for Asif Ali for Islamabad, and Sameen Gul was replaced by Mohammad Ilyas for Multan.
