Weeks after the passing of Stanley Wilson Jr. at a mental health facility in Los Angeles County, his family filed a lawsuit.

The family and their lawyer, John Carpenter, reportedly disclosed the complaint against Los Angeles County on Tuesday at a press conference in Beverly Hills, according to the media.

According to an international news channel, Carpenter asserted during the conference that Wilson Jr. may have been the victim of excessive force prior to his passing on February 1 at the Twin Towers Correctional Institution.

“There were fresh wounds to his forehead, which appear to have been caused by a shoe,” Carpenter said.

Wilson Jr. may have been in handcuffs at the time because of marks on his wrists, Carpenter added.
