Imad Wasim tells cause of Karachi Kings’ weak PSL 8 debut
According to Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim, several players’ lack of game awareness and inability to complete games resulted in defeats during the current eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
When questioned during a press conference about why Tabraiz Shamsi wasn’t used earlier and why it took Karachi five games to find the right lineup, the all-rounder responded as follows: “I don’t believe it was a mistake in team selection that caused us to lose games, but rather our finishing and some players’ lack of game awareness. Taking a look at our other games, excluding the one against Islamabad, we could have won them all.”
Imad highlighted the causes of his team’s poor PSL performance thus far.
“We can’t go over the line. We are unable to win games despite small margins of one, two, or three runs that can go either way. We have spoken about how the fielding should account for any small margins. We are unable to make any last-minute adjustments.”
At the National Bank Cricket in Karachi, Karachi destroyed league-leading Multan Sultans by 66 runs in their most recent game.
Against Multan on Sunday, Imad Wasim’s team finally found its groove. They made a few notable adjustments, which were successful. Tayyab Tahir took Haider Ali’s place, and Tabraiz Shamsi took Imran Tahir’s place.
“The largest platform for youth is PSL. Everyone in the world watches it. Because PSL is the world’s hardest competition, young players are noticed. Tayyab Tahir is a member of our team who seized a chance and excelled. I explained to him that even though you were close by, you were unable to attend the matches. And I instructed him to play similarly to how he did in amateur cricket. Anyone performs in the PSL finds international cricket simpler, “added he.
Imad acknowledged Qasim Akram’s talent, but added that the latter’s ability to strike hard was the only reason he could play Irfan Khan.
Imad, who was speaking about the Pindi Cricket Stadium’s conditions, predicted that the stadium would host high-scoring games and provide the audience with fascinating cricket to watch.
When asked if he was pleased with the work of his team, he responded: “Even if you are at the top of your league, you can never be happy. Although I’m not happy, it will be better for our team if we keep playing cricket the way we are and maintain our standards.”
Today’s matchup between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi will be a pivotal match in the ongoing eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The match will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, which is all prepared to host its opening encounter of the PSL 8.
