Usman Khan of Multan Sultans set a record for the quickest century in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history by slamming a century in just 36 balls during the 28th game of the current season of the competition.

Usman surpassed Rilee Rossouw, a teammate, who set the previous record for the fastest century in 41 balls during yesterday’s match between Multan and Peshawar Zalmi. With the help of 12 fours and 9 sixes, he scored 120 runs in 43 balls.

The Sultans batter was dismissed by Gladiators captain Mohammad Nawaz after making 120 runs on 43 balls with 12 fours and 9 sixes and a strike rate of 279,1.

Even the opposition had to acknowledge the top-order batter’s skill due to his sensational performance.

Usman’s century ranks second among Pakistani cricketers in terms of speed in T20 cricket.

In a domestic T20 match in 2020, Khushdil Shah scored 100 runs in just 35 balls, which included eight fours and nine sixes.

Islamabad United previously held the record for the highest total, scoring 247-2 against Peshawar in 2021.
