Cameroon’s women’s football team is gearing up for an intense showdown against Uganda in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games women’s football qualifiers.

Despite a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of the second round, the Cameroonian squad appears to be undaunted by the challenge and is oozing optimism. Jean Baptiste Bisseck, the head coach of the team, shared his upbeat sentiments ahead of the crucial match.

“I don’t have a short-term project. The key to tomorrow’s game will be the finishing. We have to play without pressure, with determination and have fun,” Bisseck declared during a pre-match press conference held Monday evening.

Bisseck’s confidence in his team’s ability to overturn the deficit is shared by the players themselves. Cameroon defender Eliane Mambolambo exuded positivity, stating, “Knowing the state of mind of the group, I would say that the percentage for victory is 200 percent.”

It’s clear that the Cameroonian squad is banking on their offensive prowess and an all-out attacking strategy to secure a ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Their mindset revolves around not just scoring but also maintaining a solid defense once they’ve managed to find the back of the net.

On the opposing side, Uganda’s interim head coach, Charles Ayiekoh Lukula, is undoubtedly aware of the threat posed by the determined Cameroonian team. Uganda, who achieved a convincing win in the first leg, will aim to hold their ground and fend off the relentless assault they’re likely to face during the upcoming match.
