Gary Kirsten, the white-ball coach for Pakistan cricket, touched down in Lahore on Monday.

He’s slated for talks with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to deliberate on the T20 World Cup 2024 outcomes and plot future courses. Joining him in Lahore is assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, who flew in from London.

The perspectives of both Kirsten and Mahmood will be crucial in assessing Babar Azam’s role as the white-ball skipper going forward.

On the agenda are discussions about possible team adjustments, fitness standards, and leadership dynamics.

Additionally, Jason Gillespie, the red-ball team’s head coach, is set to arrive in Lahore from Karachi.

The PCB has also called upon ex-Test cricketers for their input. These veterans will meet with the PCB head and board members on Monday to offer their insights and recommendations.

The talks aim to narrow the divide between Pakistan’s local cricket level and the global stage.

They will also pore over an extensive report by a former cricketer, pinpointing systemic flaws in Pakistan’s cricket framework.
