Pakistan and England Confirm Line-ups Ahead of Second Test
The much-anticipated announcement of the Pakistan cricket team’s squad for the upcoming Test series against England is scheduled for this week. Shan Masood is expected to retain his captaincy, although the team is likely to see some changes following their recent series against Bangladesh.
The Pakistani squad will gather in Multan on October 2, coinciding with the arrival of the English team. While the visitors will have a rest day on October 3, the Pakistani players will kick off their preparations with their first training session.
Sources indicate that three to four players may be dropped from the team that faced Bangladesh. Head coach Jason Gillespie, who recently completed a training camp in Lahore, is currently in Faisalabad to oversee the selection process.
Selection committee members Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq are also on-site, assessing the performances of national players in the ongoing Champions Cup.
After discussions with the captain and head coach, the selection committee will finalize the list of potential players. The Champions Cup final on Sunday will play a crucial role in their decision-making. Once the PCB chairman approves the squad, it will be officially announced.
The first Test between Pakistan and England is set for October 7, with the second Test in Multan on October 15, and the series concluding with the third Test on October 24 in Rawalpindi.
