BULAWAYO: The first ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe was interrupted by heavy rain in Bulawayo, halting play during Pakistan’s run chase.

Pakistan, chasing a target of 206 runs, found themselves in deep trouble, losing six wickets for just 58 runs. Zimbabwe had set a target of 206 runs for Pakistan to win the first match of the three-match series.

Coming off a historic ODI series win against World Champions Australia in Australia, the Pakistan team entered this series with renewed confidence. This match also marks Pakistan’s first series under new head coach Aaqib Javed.

Zimbabwe’s Batting

In the Bulawayo match, Zimbabwe’s openers began aggressively but quickly lost momentum. At 40 runs, Joylord Gumbie was run out for 15 by Abdullah Shafique, and Dion Myers contributed just 8 runs.

Captain Craig Ervine (6), Tadiwanashe Marumani (29), Sean Williams (23), Brian Bennett (20), Brandon Mavuta (1), and Blessing Muzarabani (0) all fell cheaply.
