Pakistan Women’s U-19 Secures Win Against Nigeria
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: The Pakistan U-19 Women’s cricket team kicked off their preparations for the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup with a commendable 11-run victory over Nigeria in their opening warm-up match held in Malaysia on Monday.
Electing to bat first, Pakistan set a target of 105 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Fatima Khan led the scoring with a steady knock of 28 runs off 39 balls, supported by Ravel Farhan, who added 23 runs from 37 balls.
Additional contributions came from Zofshan Ayaz (13 runs), Manahel (10 runs), and Areesha Ansari (7 runs). Komal Khan managed 4 runs, while Tayyaba Imdad and Maham Anis remained unbeaten with 2 and 3 runs, respectively.
In defense, Pakistan’s bowlers displayed discipline and accuracy, restricting Nigeria to 94 runs for 6 wickets. Qara Al-Ain delivered an exceptional spell, claiming 2 wickets while conceding only 9 runs in her 4-over quota.
