The West Indies cricket team has arrived in Pakistan for a two-match Test series, marking their return to the country for a Test series after 18 years.

The squad landed in Islamabad on Monday via flight EK 612 from Dubai, ahead of the matches scheduled later this month at Multan Cricket Stadium.

To prepare for the series, the West Indies team will play a three-day practice match against Pakistan Shaheens, starting on January 10. Both teams will gather in Islamabad on January 6, with training sessions taking place over the following days.

The Pakistan squad will begin preparations on January 7 at the Islamabad Club, while the West Indies will hold two intensive training sessions on January 8-9.

This tour is a historic moment for Pakistan cricket, marking the first Test series against the West Indies on Pakistani soil since their 2006 visit.

The West Indies have secured 18 victories, and 15 matches have ended in draws. The last Test series between the teams took place in 2021 in the Caribbean, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
