KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that celebrated singers Shafqat Amanat Ali, Ali Zafar, and Sahir Ali Bagga will perform at the grand opening ceremony of the newly renovated National Bank Stadium.

The inauguration event is scheduled for February 11 and will mark the successful completion of the venue’s renovation ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan will host from February 19 to March 9.

Cricket fans attending the event can look forward to live musical performances, a mesmerizing fireworks display, and a spectacular light show.

“Get ready for another unforgettable night,” Mohsin Naqvi shared on X (formerly Twitter).

“The grand inauguration of Karachi Stadium is happening on 11th February with spectacular musical performances by Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat and Ali Sahir Ali Bagga,” the PCB chairman stated.

The ninth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy will begin on February 19, with host and defending champions Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the tournament opener at National Bank Stadium, Karachi.

A total of 15 matches will be played across 19 days, with Pakistan’s hosting venues including Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host the second semi-final and the final on March 9, unless India qualifies, in which case the final will be held in Dubai.

Additionally, all three group-stage matches involving India and the first semi-final are set to be played in Dubai. Both semi-finals and the final will have reserve days.
