Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has opted against using a $400,000 VIP hospitality box for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Dubai. Instead, he has chosen to experience the tournament alongside regular cricket fans.
The UAE Cricket Board had allocated an exclusive 30-seat luxury box for Naqvi, but the PCB chief decided to sell the premium seating, preferring to be part of the general stands to enjoy the electrifying atmosphere of the event.
His decision has been widely appreciated, with many considering it a significant move that highlights his commitment to remaining connected with the public and avoiding elite privileges.
Meanwhile, the ICC has announced the release of additional tickets for high-profile matches, including the much-anticipated Pakistan vs. India clash on February 23.
Newly available tickets also include those for key fixtures such as the tournament opener between Bangladesh and India on February 20 and the New Zealand vs. India match on March 2. Additionally, seats for the first semi-final on March 4 will be up for sale.
Due to the overwhelming demand, particularly for the Pakistan vs. India showdown, the ICC has decided to release extra tickets to accommodate eager fans.
It is worth noting that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be co-hosted by Pakistan and the UAE, with the opening match set to take place on February 19 in Karachi, where the defending champions will face New Zealand.
India will play all of their tournament matches in Dubai, including their much-awaited clash against Pakistan on February 23.
