South Africa has announced all-rounder Corbin Bosch as a replacement for Anrich Nortje in the squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Nortje, who sustained a back injury last year, was ruled out of the tournament, with young pacer Gerald Coetzee initially considered as his replacement. However, Coetzee also suffered a hamstring niggle during the SA20 tournament, forcing him out of the Champions Trophy as well.

As a result, Corbin Bosch has been included in the Proteas squad for the prestigious event, set to commence on February 19.

The 30-year-old pacer made his international debut against Pakistan in December last year and has so far featured in one ODI and one Test match.

In addition to Bosch’s inclusion, South Africa has named Kwena Maphaka as a traveling reserve for the tri-nation series and the Champions Trophy 2025.

Both Bosch and Maphaka, along with batter Tony de Zorzi, are set to depart for Pakistan today to join the national squad for the remainder of the single-league tournament.

South Africa will kick off their Champions Trophy campaign against Afghanistan on Friday, February 21, at National Bank Stadium, Karachi.
