ICC warns Suryakumar Yadav against political statements and summons two Pakistani players
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has barred Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav from making political statements during matches.
After India’s first Asia Cup clash against Pakistan, Yadav made a political comment in his post-match remarks. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed an official complaint to the ICC regarding his statement.
Following the complaint, the ICC summoned Yadav and asked him to explain his remarks. The council has now warned him not to make any political statements in the future.
According to ICC’s directive, Yadav will not be allowed to give political opinions on or off the field during tournaments. Meanwhile, Pakistani cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan have also been called to the ICC headquarters tomorrow.
