UAE won match against Oman by 42 runs in Asia Cup clash
Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates defeated Oman by 42 runs in the seventh group match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Monday.
Oman won the toss and chose to field first, but the decision backfired. UAE batted strongly and scored 172 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Captain Muhammad Waseem led from the front with 69 runs, while opener Alishan Sharafu supported him with a solid 51. Mohammad Zohaib added 21, while others contributed small scores.
For Oman, Jiten Ramnani took 2 wickets, while Sameer Srivastava and Hasnain Shah claimed one wicket each.
While chasing 173, Oman struggled from the start and were bowled out for 130 runs in 18.4 overs. Aryan Bisht scored 24, Vinayak Shukla 20, Jatinder Singh 20, and Jiten Ramnani 13. Shakeel Ahmed remained not out on 14, while other batters failed to reach double figures.
For the UAE, Junaid Siddique took 4 wickets, Haider Ali and Jawadullah grabbed 2 wickets each, and Mohammad Roheed claimed 1 wicket.
UAE will face Pakistan on September 17, and the winner is likely to advance to the next stage of the tournament.
