New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has confirmed December 2022 and April 2023 tours to Pakistan. During the two tours, the two teams will play each other in two Tests, eight ODIs, and five T20Is.
In December 2022, the Kane Williamson-led squad will visit Pakistan for two Tests and three ODIs, followed by five ODIs and five T20Is in April 2023.
The two-match Test series will be part of the World Test Championship, while the one-day international series will be part of the ODI World Cup Super League.
In April 2023, New Zealand will return to Pakistan for a five-match ODI and five-match T20I series. However, the ODI series will not be a part of the ODI Super League.
In spite of watertight security precautions, the New Zealand cricket team postponed its tour of Pakistan minutes before the first match in Rawalpindi, claiming security concerns.
Last month, Pakistan Cricket Board was compensated by New Zealand Cricket for abruptly canceling the tour, which helped repair relations between the two cricket-playing nations.
In addition to accepting New Zealand’s invitation for the tri-series featuring Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand in October before the T20 World Cup, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) accepted the invitation from New Zealand last month.
The Pakistan cricket team’s forthcoming six-month schedule is so jam-packed that the cricket board was forced to cancel the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.
