The case was brought to the PCB’s attention last week, and relates to an inappropriate behaviour allegation. In addition, it is the focus of an ongoing police inquiry.

Iqbal is from the same region as Waqar Younis and played with the legendary fast bowler in regional cricket during the late 1980s. A few individuals at the time believed that he was a more promising potential than Waqar, notably due to his ability to stroke the new ball. However, he never advanced to international cricket.

In March 2004, Iqbal played his final professional cricket game. He concluded his career with 258 first-class wickets in 80 matches and 65 List A wickets in 49 matches.
