- FIFA has announced the final 32 teams for the mega event.
- Senegal will take on the Netherlands in the World Cup opener.
- Qatar will face Ecuador in their first game.
Costa Rica was the last team to fill the final spot in the 2022 FIFA World Cup after thrashing New Zealand. The mega event, which takes place every four years, will begin in Qatar later this year.

Senegal will lock horns with the Netherlands in Group A’s opening match of the World Cup on November 21 at Al Thumama Stadium, followed by hosts Qatar facing Ecuador at Al Bayt Stadium.
Group E appears to be the most challenging of the eight groups, as it has two World Champions, Germany and Spain, along with Japan and Costa Rica.
