According to electric car maker, Tesla has delivered record numbers of its cars in first quarter, despite of having supply chain challenges.

Electric car makers have said that it has delivered more than 310,000 vehicles in the first three months of this year. And this was almost 70% higher for the same time like last year.

Elon Musk, Chief executive said that this improvement camedespite an “extremely difficult quarter”, which includes strict coronavirus policies in China, where Tesla has a so-called ‘giga factory.’

Tesla has delivered around 310,048 cars from the start of this year to the end of March, which is up from 184,800 a year earlier, according to released finger on weekend, Mr Musk posted on Twitter that, “This was an exceptionally difficult quarter due to supply chain interruptions and China zero Covid policy,” “Outstanding work by Tesla team and key suppliers saved the day.”

On 20th April the world’s most valuable carmaker is set to release its full financial results for the period.

Tesla has ‘giga factory’ at Shanghai, which is huge volume car manufacturing plant, which also produces the lithium-ion batteries that power the vehicles.

Later it was reportedly shut as the city saw a surge in coronavirus infections.
