As Wayne Rooney believes that Marcus Rashford is one of four players Manchester United need to build team around as he backed the England international to have an improved season next time.
United’s match against Leicester will be on Saturday evening whereas Ralf Rangnick started Rashford will be on the bench, while selecting Bruno Fernandes to lead the attack instead. This decision from the interim boss is understood to have mystify some united players.
Eventually Rashford brought from the bench in the second-half, but than Rangnick’s snub was yet another low point in a forgettable season for the forward. As Rashford has scored just five goals across all matches this campaign.
Meanwhiloe Rashford has looked lacking of confidence, Rooney believes the next manager of United could build around him, among others. While Rooney speaking on Monday night, backed Rashford to put this miserable season behind him. “I think, as we said, they’ve got good young players,” Rooney told about United’s rebuild and said “I think [Jadon] Sancho will be better next year, Marcus will be better next year. They’ve got good young players. I think Jesse Lingard should be playing for them because he brings energy, brings quality. Scott McTominay’s done well. So they do have some good young players, you just have to get some confidence and get them believing that they’re good players and perform at the best level. And then, obviously, whoever the new manager is, I’m sure he’ll bring his own players in and build that through.”
