Mark Cuban offers a DOGE upgrade to Elon Musk on Twitter as way to fight against spam
Now that Twitter has accepted Elon Musk’s offer, the Tesla CEO is making good on his vow to purge Twitter of spammers and bots. Mark Cuban has recommended Musk, in an unusual idea, to improve Doge with an “Optimistic Rollup,” or layer-2 solution, which would make it more efficient and safe. After this is completed, Twitter, under Musk’s leadership, might ask everyone to put up one DOGE as collateral in exchange for the ability to make infinite tweets. According to Cuban’s plan, this large pool of DOGE would serve as enticing prizes for people who took the initiative to report spam tweets on Twitter.
If a tweet is flagged as spam and humans confirm it by voting, individuals who flagged the message will receive and share the spammer’s DOGE tokens as a reward.
However, if the post is found to be spam, the contestants will lose their DOGE.
As part of his suggestion, Cuban also stated that spammers who are recognized will have to deposit 100 Dogecoins into the Twitter pool in order to create any subsequent post.
At the time of writing, each Dogecoin was trading for $0.14 (approximately Rs. 10) on international marketplaces.
The NBA’s Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban, was responding to a Twitter debate between American billionaire Marc Andreessen and Musk.
The former had shared an image of spam tweets sent from another random account in his name.
“What algorithm could possibly catch this?” Andreessen tweeted, to which Musk replied in a single word, “Humans”.
We add an optimistic roll up to Doge Everyone puts up 1 doge for unlimited posts. If anyone contests a post and humans confirm it's spam, they get the spammer's Doge. Spammer has to post 100x more Doge If it's not spam, the contestor loses their Doge. DogeDAO FTW ! 🚀🚀🚀 https://t.co/m6jiDve3AF

The general public has praised Cuban’s plan, which advocates for a shared governance framework for Twitter’s next phase. Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Dogecoin, also expressed his delight.

Great idea. I’d also recommend shared governance for the new Twitter. An advisory board made up of a diverse group of objective users who use fact based methods (i.e. Twitter Polls) to bring ideas/changes to the app. I’d be happy to organize it if you agree, just lmk @elonmusk
