Realme expanded its foothold in the low and mid-range smartphone market with the launch of 4G and 5G variants priced under £300 ($366.56), as well as the European debut of its Pad Mini tablet.

The Chinese manufacturer has stressed the photography capabilities of its Realme 9 series, claiming an industry first by delivering a professional-quality 108MP camera with Samsung’s Isocell HM6 image sensor, as is becoming increasingly prevalent in the smartphone market.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 CPU in the 4G Realme 9 variant is paired with a 90 Hz super AMOLED display with a 360 Hz touch sampling rate, which the manufacturer claims improves “browsing, gaming, or live streaming.”

The Realme 9 costs £249 in gold, black, and white with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The Snapdragon 695 processor in the 5G version includes dual SIM and standby capabilities, as well as the “highest CPU clock in the segment” of up to 2.2GHz, according to Realme.

A high-resolution 50MP main unit, a 2MP black and white portrait, and similarly sized macro lenses are among the camera’s features. A 16-megapixel selfie module is installed.

The Realme 9 5G has a 5000mAh battery and supports 18W rapid charging. Black and white are the colour options, with the 4GB/128GB model costing £249.

The Pad Mini from the provider is powered by Android, a Unisoc T616 chipset, and a 6400mAh battery.

It is available in grey or blue and costs €179.99 ($187.38) in 3GB/32GB format or €199.99 in 4GB/64GB format, both with Wi-Fi only.
