Waze has finally added Apple Music support for iPhones, allowing you to manage your music using the navigation app’s built-in audio player.
This should make it easy to pause, play, and switch between songs while driving to your destination. You’ll also get immediate access to Apple Music’s extensive playlist library via Waze, which means you shouldn’t have to launch the Apple Music app at all.
Apple Music joins a growing list of audio streaming services that already work with Waze. In 2017, the app got Spotify functionality, followed by Pandora, TuneIn, and Deezer.
In addition to major music services such as Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and iHeartRadio, Waze supports a number of podcasts, news, and audiobook apps such as Audible, NPR One, and Stitcher.
Apple Music was likely the last major audio streaming provider that Waze did not support, and its integration should fill a significant void for individuals who use Apple for music streaming but prefer the Google-owned navigation service.
