The Poco C40 was supposed to be unveiled globally today, but the Vietnamese subsidiary of the company got ahead of schedule and staged its own debut last week. It’s official today, using a chipset from a company you’ve probably never heard of.
The display on the front is a 6.71-inch HD+ LCD with a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The fingerprint scanner is positioned on a large black island on the back of the device.
The cameras are housed in the same large rectangle, featuring a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

The phone’s most exciting feature is its huge 6,000 mAh battery, which supports 18W charging. The phone will, however, come with a 10W charger from Xiaomi.
The chipset is neither from Qualcomm, Mediatek, or even Unisoc; it is the JR510 from Shanghai-based JLQ, and it features four 2GHz CPU cores and four 1.5GHz CPU cores, with a Mali-G52 GPU. In terms of performance, we expect it to be comparable to the Snapdragon 450 or Helio G35.
