PTA further notes that under PECA 37, the authority is only automating the blocking of illicit content from the Internet. The automated blocking was previously in existence, but the automation process was enhanced at the ISP level using domain name resolution to boost its effectiveness.

Last but not least, PTA claims that this move will have no impact on internet costs or speeds, and that it will have no impact on customer privacy. It will have no impact on the current Content Delivery Networks system (CDNs).
