Tekken 7 is the best-selling game in the series in 26 years

Tekken 7 has officially sold over nine million copies, cementing its status as the best-selling game in the franchise. With 8.5 million units sold, it has surpassed Tekken 3’s 26-year record as the series’ best-selling game.

Only Tekken 5, which sold 8.2 million copies, came close to matching those numbers, making Tekken 7’s success all the more astounding.

The series’ creator, Katsuhiro Harada, also revealed that the series had sold 53 million copies worldwide. Tekken 7 has had one of the longest lifespans in the series, with the console version marking its five-year anniversary on June 2.
