
Telenor Pakistan collaborates with Circle Women, empowering females via digital literacy

In order to teach women how to use the internet and other crucial digital tools, Telenor Pakistan has teamed up with Circle Women.
The program will provide digital literacy, entrepreneurship skills, and financial inclusion to young women who work from home and come from underprivileged families.
Although women make up about half of the population, just 25% of them are actively employed in the nation, according to the Asian Development Bank.
To close the gender digital divide among young women and home-based workers in Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Multan, Sargodha, Mianwali, Layyah, Narowal, and Pakpattan, Telenor Pakistan will provide connection under this cooperation.

3,000 micro-entrepreneurs will receive free SIM cards with 15 GB of data to help them hone their digital abilities.
“Telenor has always looked at access to the internet as an empowering instrument,” said Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Operating Officer of Telenor Pakistan, who was in attendance.
“By joining the Circle Women program, we’ll make sure that we give women in these communities access to the full power of 4G connectivity and promote their use of game-changing digital platforms,” he continued.
“Increasing female engagement in the formal economy is vital for the country’s socioeconomic advancement,” remarked Sadaffe Abid, Chief Executive Officer of Circle Women.
She continued, “The digital literacy initiative is aimed to empower women economically and socially by teaching them how to use digital platforms and mobile wallets for commerce and information exchange.

Telenor Pakistan has a long history of supporting women’s empowerment projects, such as its involvement in the World Bank’s Girls Learn and Women Earn program, which provided 1,100 women from all around the country with the opportunity to receive digital literacy training.
The “Naya Aghaaz” program from Telenor Pakistan is a special platform created to help women who have taken a career sabbatical get back on track professionally. Telenor Pakistan is still dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion across the nation by utilizing technology and its digital know-how.
