With a significant update, video conferencing provider Zoom will now provide chat messaging capabilities and translation tools as part of a new assortment of tiered annual membership packages.
As part of what it calls Zoom One, there will be six tiers available, the Basic free tier update of which will give users access to 40-minute meetings for up to 100 people, the Zoom Chat service, transcription, and the Zoom Whiteboard collaboration tool.
There will also be paid levels with ever-expanding value and capabilities, the top two of which—Zoom One Business Plus and Zoom One Enterprise Plus—include the platform’s new translation function.

By doing this, users participating in a Zoom meeting will be able to see speaker captions in the language of their choice.
The new tool will debut in English as well as Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish, among other 10 languages.
The business said that it has also enhanced automated captioning in meetings, enabling customers to view captions of conference speakers in real-time and in a variety of languages.
