ZTE: New budget for phones announced

The A52 and A72, two new Blade phones from ZTE, are launched. These are both inexpensive phones using Unisoc chipsets that are likewise very economical. For the time being, they are only available in Malaysia.

The main difference between the two phones is the display specifications. The Blade A72 has a larger 6.7-inch LCD with 720p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. However, the A52 has a 6.5-inch LCD with 720p resolution but only 60Hz refresh rate.

The fingerprint sensor of the A72 is on the side, while the A52’s is on the back. It is near to the main camera.

Storage and Internals

Although both phones use the same Unisoc SC9863A chipset, the A72 has up to 3GB of RAM. While, the A72’s lower-end brother only has 2GB. Both contain 64GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

On the software front, Android 11 OS is used, with ZTE’s MiFovor 11 on top.

Cameras

The camera specifications are the same as well, with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth camera. This camera arrangement can record 1080p films at 30 frames per second.

Both phones include a 5MP front-facing camera.

Pricing and the Battery

The Galaxy A72 benefits from its larger size by having a larger 6,000 mAh battery. Although, the A52 only has a 5,000 mAh battery, which is still ample for a budget phone.

The selling costs for the ZTE Blade A72 and A52 are $114 and $91 respectively.
