In a time when concern over account privacy and the security of personal information is at an all-time high; Firefox has introduced the newest version of the Mozilla browser; which will likely prevent some URLs from tracking users around the globe. For individuals who do not like tracking when they click on links from websites; like Facebook and Marketo, this is good news. A recent Firefox update can prevent tracking on some URLs.

Following the Tuesday launch of Firefox 102; this new privacy option came in discovery. This version has the benefit of allowing users to eliminate a small number of tracking parameters from several platforms; including Facebook, Olytics, HubSpot, and Marketo. In reality, these arguments are lines of code; code that are appended to the end of the URL.

Firefox’s website explaining the new security feature states that the browser always warns users; that turning on “severe” stalker protection may prevent some websites; from functioning as intended. Furthermore, without explicitly configuring the browser; the browser cannot function in Private Mode.
