Instagram limits under-16 content further
Instagram recently announced more changes to its Sensitive Content Control feature. These changes are meant to protect the privacy and safety of teens who use Instagram.
Instagram’s blog post about controlling sensitive content was changed on Thursday.
Popular software for sharing photos and videos changed its version to protect younger users.
These steps include setting “Less” as the default setting for “Sensitive Content Control” on new teen accounts, giving other teens prompts that suggest they choose “Less,” and testing prompts that ask teen users to look at and change their privacy and safety settings.
With Instagram’s sensitive content control settings, both kids and adults can hide things like drugs and guns from search results and content suggestions.
Take a look:
These rules don’t apply to accounts that you follow. The choices for adults are more, standard, or less. More allows you to be more sensitive, Standard a little bit, and Less at the very least.
Instagram said that teens can only use Standard and Less. Less is now the default for new accounts for people under 16 years old.
Teens who have Instagram profiles from before the change will be asked to choose Less.
Instagram is testing a feature that will remind teens to change their privacy and security settings.
Teenagers can change their settings to limit how much they share, text, watch, and use apps.
