Instagram is now protecting users from unsolicited nude photos

Instagram is one of the only apps that take responsibility for user safety, unlike others whose purpose is to attract subscribers.

This time, the social media platform wants to shield users against nude DMs. Meta confirmed that this functionality is in development and almost done.

The company is making new user settings to help customers filter out nude photos and unwanted messages in Instagram Direct Messages (DMs).

Instagram was designed to exchange photos with loved ones and sell commercial items, but some are using it to communicate nude photos.

It’s uncomfortable and can carry viruses. Children use the app, so receiving such data is unacceptable.

These restrictions are tied to “Hidden Words,” which filters hateful direct communications.

The best part is that Meta can’t read the actual communications or share them with third parties due to the technology behind this feature.

Liz Fernandez, a spokesperson for Meta, said, “We’re working closely with experts to ensure these new features preserve people’s privacy while giving them control over the messages they receive.”

We know how this function works, but the business will divulge more when testing begins.
