A new Vivo Fold phone was said to be coming out a few weeks ago, according to tech bloggers. Although its most recent entry on the TENAA certification link shows different, tipsters believed the device’s name to be X Fold S.

The fact that the new Vivo Fold is listed on TENAA suggests that the Chinese launch is about to happen. The paper states that the product’s maker names it the Vivo X Fold+ 5G. It includes the name as well as some intriguing information regarding the impending foldable.

To begin with, the addition of 5G to the name calls for a 5G-capable CPU in addition to the antenna bands N41, N78, N79, N1, and N28. Now that Android 12 OS is verified to be the operating system of the phone, Origin OS Ocean is probably used to skin it.

The X Fold Plus 5G will use the same 4600mAh battery and 66-Watt charging rate as the original X Fold, according to the certificate, which also details the battery capacity of the most recent X Vivo smartphone. The fold will hold 2300mAh batteries for a combined 4600mAh in each of its two parts.

According to previous leaks, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU, a SoC based on a 4nm manufacturing process for low battery retention and flagship-level horsepower, is the heart of the X Fold Plus 5G. In terms of power-to-performance, it represents a huge improvement over the X Fold’s 8 Gen 1 Chip. Take these details with a grain of salt because the specifications are not yet official.

Given that it has been certified, the Vivo X Fold+ 5G’s official announcement can’t be too far off. Like the previous generation X Fold, the foldable will probably be developed and sold exclusively in China. If something new happens, we’ll keep you informed.
