Desi Comic Twitter Advice for Elon Musk. Musk has brought out, rolled back, and re-rolled out features and services on the platform in a manner similar to a pendulum, but without the predictability. Devesh’s analogy includes a narrative about his grandfather purchasing a tabla, as well as some polite counsel for the billionaire.

He told how his grandfather observed a man playing the tabla who had been doing it for 10-12 years and claimed that he could learn to play it in a week. The man asked him to purchase the tabla, which he did. He was unable to play it after getting it home. He began hiring tutors to train him, who told him he lacked potential. He began firing the professors (think: Musk firing most of Twitter staff, a veteran engineer who questioned him publicly, and several people complaining they had not received official intimation about getting fired).

When all else failed, the grandfather brought the tabla out, trying to sell it, but discovered that he had paid Rs 25,000 for it when it actually cost Rs 5,000. Frustrated, he smacked his head against the tabla, smashing it.

Devesh concludes his narrative by reminding Musk that he has purchased the tabla- Twitter- but that, while he can keep ownership, he should preferably allow others who know how to run the show to run it.

“Translate karke samjha dena bhai ko,” in the caption, Devesh wrote.
