Infinix Hot 11 price in Pakistan & specifications
The Infinix Hot 11 has a MediaTek Helio G70 processor. The smartphone...
Realme reclaimed the charge speed crown last week with the release of the first phone capable of 240W charging. With the release of the GT Neo3 with a 150W charge system last year, the company briefly held the title, but the progress made in a year means that 150W is now the slow option.
The Realme GT Neo 5 240W has a 4,600 mAh battery, which is 100 mAh larger than the GT Neo3 150W. The 150W version of the GT Neo 5 has returned to the full 5,000mAh capacity of the 80W GT Neo3.
This is incredible progress in a year, and while battery capacity is still lost on phones with the fastest charging, the loss is shrinking over time. And if you’re content with “just” 150 watts, the loss is completely eliminated. We should also mention that the 240W model charges completely in under 10 minutes.
And, while you may think that these are reasonable prices for 8+ Gen 1 phones, you should consider this. The fully loaded 16GB/1TB 240W model costs CNY 3,500 ($515/€480/42,500), which is only marginally more than the base 16/256GB phone. What does Samsung charge for phones with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage? Right.
With prices like these, it’s difficult to be disappointed by the lack of a microSD slot (though, as much as we like the RGB lighting on the back, we’d probably swap it for a 3.5mm jack if we could).
Of course, these are China prices, and we don’t yet know what the global prices are. Nonetheless, the two Realme GT Neo 5 variants have the potential to upend the premium market.
Let’s take a look at what the competition has to offer. The Redmi Note 12 Discovery is priced at CNY 2,400 and comes with a 210W charging system. It’s not widely available (only in China) and has a less powerful Dimensity 1080 chipset, but it does have a 200MP main camera.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ retains the Dimensity 1080 chipset and 200MP camera but reduces charging power to 120W. In China, it costs CNY 2,200, while in India, it costs CNY 30,000. The Discovery has a 4,300 mAh battery that can be charged to 100% in 9 minutes. The Pro+ has a 5,000 mAh battery that charges in 19 minutes.
Last year’s iQOO 10 Pro featured a Snapdragon 820 Gen 1 processor and a 4,700 mAh battery with 200W charging (100% in 10 minutes). In China, one of these (8 GB/256 GB) costs CNY 4,400.
The spotlight is now on the iQOO 11 and 11 Pro. Both have upgraded to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The Pro model, like its predecessor, has a 4,700mAh battery with 200W charging and costs CNY 5,500 for a 12-inch, 256GB phone, while the vanilla model has a 5,000mAh, 120W battery and costs CNY 4,100 for an 8-inch, 256GB unit. The iQOO 11 is priced at INR 60,000 in India for the 8/256GB model. The two Pros also have 50W wireless charging, which the Realme phones do not have.
There’s also the Realme GT3, which has 240W fast charging and will be unveiled globally on February 28. Realme has not revealed how the GT3 will differ from the GT Neo5. The two phones appear to be identical.
So, will it be a Realme GT Neo 5 with 150W charging or a Realme GT Neo 5 with 240W charging? Or perhaps none of the above? Vote in the polls below or on this page.
