WhatsApp roll out ‘Push name within chat list’ feature on iOS beta
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is launching a new “Push name within the chat list” function for the iOS beta.
When a message is received from an unknown group member, beta testers will now show push names instead of phone numbers in the chat list, according to WABetainfo.
This feature will assist users in determining who the unknown contact is without the need to save the number as a new contact.
It will be useful for participants in large group chats when keeping track of who is who might be tough.
According to the report, this feature is presently accessible for select beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS through the TestFlight app, and it is likely to roll out to more users in the coming days.
Meanwhile, it was claimed on Tuesday that the messaging platform was developing a new feature for the iOS beta that will allow users to designate an expiration date for groups.
When this feature is available, users will be able to select from a variety of expiration choices, including one day, one week, and a custom date.
