Samsung Denies Rumors of Developing a $400 Foldable Phone for Next Year
Recently, there was a compelling rumor suggesting that Samsung is developing a more budget-friendly foldable device set to release next year. What makes it particularly interesting is the rumored price range of “$400 to $500.”
From the beginning, the idea sounded optimistic, and today, Samsung is essentially dashing everyone’s hopes by explicitly stating that such a scenario will not occur.

As per a Korean publication, Samsung has categorically stated that it has no intentions of manufacturing mid-range foldable smartphones, directly refuting the earlier rumor.
“We don’t plan to manufacture foldable smartphones that are priced in the midrange, and the latest rumors are groundless”, according to a spokesperson from Samsung Electronics.
It couldn’t be clearer than this, right? Currently, it seems Motorola, with its Razr 40 and Razr 2023, is the sole player in the’midrange foldable’ category. The Razr 2023 initially debuted in the US at $699.99, but it’s now available for just $499.99, fitting within the speculated target price for Samsung‘s rumored midrange Galaxy Z foldable, which, as clarified, is not in the works.

On a more positive note, if you were curious about the possibility of Samsung releasing a Fan Edition (FE) version of its foldables, the same spokesperson mentioned, “There’s nothing decided on the matter.” This leaves room for the possibility of a decision being made in the near future.
